White Cloud Bay – Mosaic Picture

Entitled ‘White Cloud Bay’ this contemporary picture mosaic shows us a colourful seascape.

Created from a variety of found and gathered materials that includes shells, beach glass and shards of mirror that reflect their environment, the pieces are held in place by lime putty and white sand.

For as long as I can remember I have been draw to that wonderful creative processes that brings art to life says Marcus.

I studied art at the West Sussex College of Art and Design; which was an amazing opportunity giving me a solid foundation of artistic skills in a variety of disciplines.

However, it wasn’t until I visited the Roman remains at Lopen in Somerset that my artistic direction took a completely new turn.

The breathtaking mosaics I saw there, vibrant in their colour after more than a thousand years inspired me to create my own mosaic forms.

Each coastal creation is a unique, dynamic and contemporary work which uses an ancient art form to evoke the feelings and emotions of amazing locations.
