We found the Sea – Painting

Simply entitled ‘We found the Sea’ this semi abstract canvas by Liz Shedden was recently inspired by an early morning walk in Crete.

“We followed the coastal path and as we turned the corner the sea glittered softly in the distance” says Liz.

Being pushed in her pram along the beach listening to the tinkling sounds of the coast is one of Liz’s’ earliest memories of growing up in Whitstable by the sea.

These memories continue to be reflected in many of her calming, tranquil paintings.

Her work has evolved over the years from pictorial to a more abstract style, where inspiration is drawn and can strike anywhere from; a colour, a flower, a place to even a simple reflection within a puddle.

This work has been painted in acrylic on canvas in a white painted artisan tray frame and is ready to hang.
