Storm Sea - Linocut Print

Simply entitled ‘Storm Sea’ this limited edition linocut print captures the enduring strength of a lighthouse standing firm against the forces of nature.

Swirling waves and winds surge around the towering beacon, while moonlight breaks through the stormy sky, illuminating the scene with an almost mythical intensity.

Chris Taylor is a photographer, filmmaker and linocut artist based in Sheringham, North Norfolk. A lifelong resident of the North Norfolk coast, his passion for the sea has been shaped by a background in Coastal Biology, years of exploring local waters, and serving as a volunteer RNLI lifeboat crew member since 2000.

His hand-printed linocuts celebrate the marine life and coastal landscapes of North Norfolk, often incorporating licensed nautical chart prints to reflect his deep connection to the area.

Self-taught in linocut printing since 2023, Chris enjoys the meditative process of carving lino to create images inspired by the coast and the wildlife he loves.

Each limited-edition print is an original hand-printed artwork. Individually produced as an impression, every print possesses its own unique character while remaining part of the edition.

Printed onto heavy-weight printmakers' paper using oil-based relief ink in a marine blue, each is supplied unframed in a flat envelope, backed with 2mm thick mdf board to prevent bending during transit.

Each is signed and numbered by the artist.
