Selkie Seal Necklet
This stylish and different ‘Selkie Seal Necklet’ is a wonderful depiction of these beautiful sea creatures.
‘Selkie’ is the local dialect word for ‘seal’ in the Orkney Islands, where they are often seen near the shore, their heads bobbing just above the water.
In mythological folklore ‘Selkies’ are seal-like creatures that would swim ashore, shed their skins and take on human form.
Beautifully handmade by Tia Rolfe of Selkie Jewellery, the necklet is designed and intended to sit just below the base of the neck.
Tia is an artist and trained Jeweller; she studied Silversmithing, goldsmithing and jewellery making at The Kent Institute of Art and Design in Rochester.
Together with a passion for the sea and inspired by the mysterious world of Selkies, she hand makes jewellery for ocean lovers around the world!
Each piece of jewellery is lovingly handcrafted on the South coast, in her little shed by the sea.
Made from 925 sterling silver, the Seal Necklet is supplied with a 17” sterling silver trace chain.
The item is presented in a hand printed fabric pouch tied with a jute bow and to make it extra special there’s a fun colouring Selkie postcard included.
Handmade in the UK.
