Seaweed - painting
Simply entitled ‘Seaweed’ by Tracy McKenna, this striking painting captures the tide at it rolls out revealing fresh and vibrant emerald green seaweed in all its glory.
Created en plein air during Tracy's stay in the picturesque village of Staithes, this piece is a testament to the allure of the village's landscape, which has drawn artists since the 1800s. Embrace the serene coastal vibes with this stunning artwork, and don't miss the annual arts festival held there each year.
Born in Cyprus, Tracy grew up in a northern mill town on the edge of the Pennines. She studied Art and Design at Nelson and Colne College and then moved on to the Arts University at Bournemouth where she graduated with a BA (Hons) and a High Commendation from the RSA.
Since then she has qualified as a teacher of Art and Design.
Inspiration is never far away as she recently moved to Penryn in Cornwall to be closer to the sea, one of her favourite subjects to paint, and now has a new purpose studio in which to work.
This original work is painted in acrylic on canvas board and comes in a simple white wash finished wooden floating tray frame without glass, ready to be displayed.
