Sea Glass – Mosaic Picture

This pretty little mosaic seascape by artist Marcus Jubb is simply entitled ‘Sea Glass’.

The seascape has been created from tiny coloured beach glass pieces, whilst the sky is made from a lustre piece of coloured art glass whose colours shift across the spectrum as viewed from different angles.

Enchanted by all the sea offers up, Somerset based creates wonderfully evocative scenes that capture the coastline.

For as long as I can remember I have been draw to that wonderful creative processes that brings art to life says Marcus.

I studied art at the West Sussex College of Art and Design; which was an amazing opportunity giving me a solid foundation of artistic skills in a variety of disciplines.

However, it wasn’t until I visited the Roman remains at Lopen in Somerset that my artistic direction took a completely new turn.

The breathtaking mosaics I saw there, vibrant in their colour after more than a thousand years inspired me to create my own mosaic forms.

Each coastal creation is a unique, dynamic and contemporary work which uses an ancient art form to evoke the feelings and emotions of amazing locations.
