Salcombe Estuary ‘Where’ve you gone?’

Description
This original semi-abstract landscape painting entitled Salcombe Estuary - ‘Where’ve you gone? is by Cheshire based artist Abz Heywood.

The painting looks out over the Kingsbridge Estuary from Holy Trinity Church in Salcombe, which has to be one of the prettiest towns in South Devon.

The work is painted using acrylics, ink, gold leaf and over stitched on canvas. The painting continues around the edges of the canvas and has a matt finish.

Abz is a 19 year old artist; who recently gained a distinction with a Foundation Diploma in an Art & Design following a 12 month course at Mid Cheshire College.

Her work favours semi-abstract landscapes and seascapes using a combination of paint and stitch.

Her pieces involve the exploration of mark making, which creates dynamic and energetic surfaces, enhancing the texture within an environment.

Inspired by texture and light, she communicates these qualities by layering the materials on the canvas to capture the spirit of a place, without the clinical detail of a photograph.

Size: 90 x 90 cm (unframed deep edge canvas 3.5cm)
