Rainbow Fish - Wall Hanging
This unique Rainbow Fish wall hanging has been carefully made by Rachel White Rainbow from hundreds of pieces of looped recycled fishing net from Dorset beaches.
Ghost nets as them are sometimes known are the abandoned and discarded fishing nets and ropes which drift un-tethered in our seas. They frequently entangle and endanger wildlife before being washed upon our shores.
They are gathered and salvaged on beachcombing walks, de-tangled, washed, dried, sorted and finally assembled into original designs.
Rachel is a driftwood and strandline artist living in Weymouth with her husband, a retired seaman, just a mile from the sea.
Made in her workshop studio, she sources her materials from local beaches and bays along the Jurassic Coast of West Dorset, England.
Rachel’s work is regularly exhibited at various galleries across the southwest and recently one of her creations was selected to dress the kitchen set of ‘Ainsley’s Good Mood Food' on ITV.
The images show the actual item to be dispatched. Each piece is signed by the artist, stamped and numbered, and ready to hang on your wall.
