Polished Violet Clam Shell

These beautiful polished Violet Clam Shells are also known as Mactra Violacea shells and have a wonderfully rich purple, lilac colouring.

Each shell displays an attractive series of fine, concentric bands, creating an almost marble-like pattern of violet, lavender, mauve with creamy whites.

The highly polished surface enhances both the natural colour and the intricate growth lines, giving these shells a particularly smooth and glossy finish.

These are natural bivalve shells supplied complete as closed pairs, with the two valves securely glued together.

Commonly found in the warm, shallow waters of the Indo-West Pacific, their distinctive colouring and attractive rounded form make them ideal for craft projects, shell displays, coastal-themed decorations, jewellery making and other creative uses.
