Pink Shells on Canvas

Collections of natural Cornish Limpet shells have been employed in the creation of this contemporary pink shell canvas by artist John Black.

Coated in different colour resins, each unique shell picture has a lovely rustic quality.

Exploring repetition of shape, colour and texture, his pieces reveal a natural decorative elegance, whilst displaying structural form and communicating an intrinsic beauty.

John, originally from the beautiful island of Cyprus, now resides by the sea in Cornwall, not massively in love with the weather but has certainly fallen for the rugged coastline and windswept beaches he walks with his 2 beloved Jack Russell's.

After busy days making wood pellets from green wood waste, he unwinds on the quiet beaches and with a keen eye collects driftwood and shells to make his abstract pictures in studio whilst listening to David Attenborough!
