Parent & Child Driftwood Fish
A delightful pair of driftwood fish wall hangings, designed and handmade on the Jurassic Coast of West Dorset, England by driftwood artist Rachel White.
Amongst the intricately interwoven pieces of natural driftwood are seashells, drifted seed pods and tiny sea-worn fragments of sea glass and pottery collected from Lyme Regis.
Living just a mile from the sea, Rachel is a driftwood and beachcombing artist living in Weymouth and sources her materials on her long walks along the shores of the beautiful Jurassic Coast; a World Heritage site.
Her creations use only natural ‘as found’ driftwood pieces - in other words driftwood which has not been shaped or altered in any way.
She has exhibited and worked with driftwood since 2011. Her work with ghost nets and beach found plastics was exhibited at the 2019 ADEX Ocean Expo in Singapore and also featured in Mood Magazine, Asia, headlining the feature ‘Trash to Treasure’, more recently her work was shown in the December issue of the US magazine 'Beach Combing'.
Rachel’s signature driftwood artwork often includes tiny interwoven found objects to add interest to her pieces, such as sea glass, small shells and on occasion finds such as beach pottery fragments, fossils or beach metal.
The images show the actual item to be dispatched. Each piece is signed by the artist, stamped and numbered, and ready to hang on your wall.
