Orca Whale & Lighthouse, Isle of May – Print

This colourful art print by Louise Stocker portrays a lively underwater world where a playful orca swims beside the magical and enchanting Isle of May, which is nestled off the East Neuk of Fife.

The island is a haven for seabirds, seals and an abundance of marine life. When orcas were spotted here during the summer of 2025, both locals and visitors were captivated and it’s that magical encounter that inspired Louise to bring the moment to life.

The charming print is taken from an original watercolour, ink and coloured pencil illustration and would look lovely in any settings.

The island’s iconic Stevenson Lighthouse sits proudly on the horizon. Built in 1816, it was engineered by Robert Stevenson, grandfather to Robert Louis Stevenson of Robinson Crusoe fame! The weather can change quickly around the island so I added a colourful rainbow, while a tiny sea urchin, a shoal of fish and swaying seaweed bring life to the rocky seabed below.

These prints would make perfect gifts for anyone with a love of the seaside and would fit perfectly into a coastal-themed bathroom or look particularly sweet in a child's bedroom or nursery.

Louise lives in the tiny little fishing village of Cellardyke having moved there in 2015 to fulfil a lifelong dream to live by the sea with its stunning scenery and slower pace of life.

Inspiration is never far away with its picture-postcard villages, its glorious sandy beaches, wildlife and craggy coves of this unspoilt little corner or ‘nook’ of Scotland.

Each giclée print is reproduced using the highest quality inks on Somerset 255gsm paper to ensure the print will remain vibrant for over 100 years. The paper has a beautiful texture that makes it barely distinguishable from the original watercolour painting.

The limited edition is of 200 with each being signed by the artist.

The print is available as an unframed mounted print or fully framed and ready to hang, in a white frame which also comes with a stand so the picture can be freestanding if required.
