Lulworth Cove Mirror No: 20

£70.00
Description

The colourfully patterned, offset circle design of this mirror by Rachel White, was inspired by Lulworth Cove and echoes the shape of this beautiful picturesque Dorset landmark.

The cove is a famous natural phenomenon situated on Dorset's Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage site.

These unique mirrors use recycled fishing nets and are made in a limited edition of only 100. This one features sea green colours and is number 20 in the series.

The ghost nets (fishing net salvage, landing nets and ropes found washed ashore) have been recycled to create this handmade mirror: gathered from our local beaches, de-tangled, washed, dried, sorted and finally carefully assembled.

Rachel is a driftwood and strandline artist living in Weymouth with her husband, a retired seaman, just a mile from the sea.

Made in her workshop studio, she sources her materials from local beaches and bays along the Jurassic Coast of West Dorset, England.

She has exhibited and worked with driftwood since 2011 and most recently her work with ghost net and beach found plastics has been exhibited at the 2019 ADEX Ocean Expo in Singapore and in current Mood magazine, Asia, headlining the feature ‘Trash to Treasure’ (March 2019).

Limited Edition

Most of the Lulworth Cove mirrors have shipped across the world. Each one is individual in pattern and colour, numbered, stamped and signed by the artist. 10% of proceeds from the sale of each mirror are donated to the Marine Conservation Society.

The images show the actual item to be dispatched.
