Lulworth Cove Mirror - Cream
This offset circle mirror by Rachel White, was inspired by Lulworth Cove and echoes the shape of this beautiful picturesque Dorset landmark.
The cove is a famous natural phenomenon situated on Dorset's Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage site.
This unique mirror uses recycled fishing nets in various shades of cream. The mirror design is made in a limited edition of only 100 of which this is number 49.
The ghost nets (fishing net salvage, landing nets and ropes found washed ashore) have been recycled to create this handmade mirror: gathered from our local beaches, de-tangled, washed, dried, sorted and finally carefully assembled.
Rachel is a driftwood and strandline artist living in Weymouth with her husband, a retired seaman, just a mile from the sea.
Made in her workshop studio, she sources her materials from local beaches and bays along the Jurassic Coast.
Rachel’s signature driftwood artwork often includes tiny interwoven found objects to add interest to her pieces, such as sea glass, small shells and on occasion finds such as beach pottery fragments, fossils or beach metal.
Her art work in is regularly exhibited in galleries around the southwest. Recently one of her amazing pieces was chosen to decorate the kitchen set of ‘Ainsley’s Good Mood Food' on TV.
Most of the Lulworth Cove mirrors have shipped across the world. Each one is individual in pattern and colour, numbered, stamped and signed by the artist. 10% of proceeds from the sale of each mirror are being donated to the the Weymouth & Portland Marine Litter Project.
The images show the actual item to be dispatched. Each piece is signed by the artist, stamped and numbered.
The bevelled edge toughened glass mirror is ready to hang on your wall.
