Looking down from Zennor Hill - painting/print
This seascape by Katie Mann looks down over the moorland, towards her farm and beyond to the ocean underneath a long, deep, grey sky.
In one of the most picturesque villages in Cornwall. lies a scattering of granite as if they were pebbles high up on Zennor Hill.
The ancient formations, weathered for centuries create a playground that my children and many others before us climb up and explore.
I must capture the view whilst the children scramble and play and before the rain sweeps in off the sea. It's most definitely autumn now.
The work is available as an original framed painting or as a limited edition signed print, modern in approach with a bold and fresh style it’s sure to brighten any wall and conjure up wonderful memories of the coast.
Katie lives on a working dairy farm in a small village in far West Cornwall with her husband and four young children.
The farm is nestled between the granite moorland and rugged cliffs with far reaching views across the sea. It’s easy to see how the scenery and landscape inspire her paintings with an emphasis on moorland views and seascapes.
Katie’s local town of St Ives with its iconic Art scene lends much inspiration for her seascapes with Porthmeor beach (being her favourite) amongst the many other beaches regularly featuring in her work.
Katie’s work is primarily acrylic with occasional charcoal and other mixed media. Katie creates depth and interest through texture and layering bringing out her individual style.
The work is available as an original painting or as a limited edition print.
The painting in particular has a real depth due to the texture of the paint which is characteristic of Katie’s work. It’s painted in acrylics on canvas board and comes in an unglazed frame as shown.
The limited edition signed prints come gallery wrapped, mounted and backed ready for framing.
