Little Driftwood Tree
This adorable little driftwood tree has been carefully made by artist Rachel White.
Each piece of driftwood is carefully selected and thoughtfully assembled to create the tree's unique shape.
Although it’s the perfect addition for any coastal retreat at Christmas, we’re sure you’ll find ways to reflect other holiday events by hanging hearts on Valentine's Day, decorated eggs at Easter or even spooky spiders at Halloween.
Rachel is a driftwood and strandline artist living in Weymouth with her husband, a retired seaman, just a mile from the sea.
Made in her workshop studio, she sources her materials from local beaches and bays along the Jurassic Coast.
Her creations use only natural ‘as found’ driftwood pieces - in other words driftwood which has not been shaped or altered in any way.
Rachel’s work is regularly exhibited at various galleries across the southwest and recently one of her creations was selected to dress the kitchen set of ‘Ainsley’s Good Mood Food' on ITV.
Her signature driftwood artworks often include tiny interwoven found objects to add interest to her pieces, such as sea glass, small shells and on occasion finds such as beach pottery fragments, fossils or beach metal.
The images show the actual item to be dispatched and comes fully assembled ready for display.
