Lions Paw Scallop - Polished

The Lions Paw Scallop shell is rich in vibrant orange hues and has no sharp claws I’m pleased to say.

Scallops or Pectinidae, are a very large family of several hundred species of mostly colourful and attractive shells. 

They are free-swimming and move by flapping their valves together, butterfly-like.  The shells can be smooth, ridged or scaly, but all have the characteristic and well-known fan shape. 

Size:  approx 13 x 13 cm   (5 inches)
