Glass Fishing Float Table Lamp
£86.00
Description
These wonderfully evocative glass fishing float lamps are sure to find themselves in many a coastal home.
Available in two colour ways, they are one of those ‘just so’ perfect finishing touches.
Glass fishing floats were first used in Norway around 1840; the nets sometimes up to 50 miles long were set adrift and supported near the surface by the hollow glass balls containing air to give them buoyancy.
By the 1940s, glass had mostly replaced wood and cork throughout much of the world. Sadly plastic and styrofoam have taken over nowadays, although considerably more practical they’re not nearly as attractive.
The lamp comes complete with cable switch and cream shade. All lighting is CE approved
