Echo Beach Mosaic Picture | Marcus Jubb

Echo Beach – Mosaic Picture

£70.00
Description
Rather like the song recorded by the Canadian group Martha and the Muffins in 1979, Echo Beach reminds of a fictional place somewhere far away, where perhaps we all would rather be.

The mosaic is carefully constructed within its frame using lime mortar and is made from gathered materials that include natural pebbles, colourful glass fragments and other found objects to create the scene.

Enchanted by all the sea offers up, Somerset based artist Marcus Jubb creates wonderfully evocative scenes that capture the coastline.

For as long as I can remember I have been draw to that wonderful creative processes that brings art to life says Marcus.

I studied art at the West Sussex College of Art and Design; which was an amazing opportunity giving me a solid foundation of artistic skills in a variety of disciplines.

However, it wasn’t until I visited the Roman remains at Lopen in Somerset that my artistic direction took a completely new turn.

The breathtaking mosaics I saw there, vibrant in their colour after more than a thousand years inspired me to create my own mosaic forms.

Each coastal creation is a unique, dynamic and contemporary work which uses an ancient art form to evoke the feelings and emotions of amazing locations.
