Driftwood Fish Wall Hanging
This fabulous driftwood fish wall hanging uses carefully interwoven pieces to give an interesting sculptural design effect.
Perfect in any setting it will certainly bring a flavour of the coast into your home.
Made by Rachel White in her workshop studio in Weymouth, her creations use only natural driftwood sculpted by the tides and have not been shaped or altered in any way.
Amongst the intricately interwoven pieces of naturally textured driftwood are drifted seed pods, shells and other beach combed treasures.
Living just a mile from the sea, Rachel is a driftwood and beachcombing artist who sources her materials on her long walks along the shores of the beautiful Jurassic Coast of West Dorset; a World Heritage site.
She has exhibited and worked with driftwood since 2011 and most recently her work with ghost net and beach found plastics has been exhibited at the 2019 ADEX Ocean Expo in Singapore and in current Mood magazine, Asia, headlining the feature ‘Trash to Treasure’ (March 2019).
Rachel’s signature driftwood artwork often includes tiny interwoven found objects to add interest to her pieces, such as sea glass, small shells and on occasion finds such as beach pottery fragments, fossils or beach metal.
The images show the actual item to be dispatched. Each piece is signed by the artist, stamped and numbered, and ready to hang on your wall and comes with a handwritten strung tag describing its Jurassic Coast provenance.
