Description
Making the perfect love token for beach and seaside lovers everywhere, this brilliantly decorative driftwood fish by Laurence Henry has a copper heart at its centre.
The rugged and wonderfully textured surface gives way to a complex relief design full of coastal style.
The double sided design reveals a simpler fish on the reverse with a copper stud eye and a wonderfully encrusted verdigris tail.
Created upon a driftwood find, Laurence uses a variety of techniques and found objects to create his highly desirable works of coastal art.
His eye catching designs look wonderful in any setting and for added impact could also be suspended from thread to gently spin on the breeze to display both sides at once.
He has worked as a freelance artist to Liberty, Parker Knoll, Habitat and Gallery Five, before eventually taking full time employment with the BBC as a graphic designer illustrating material for Play School and Jackanory.
Since his early retirement in 1999, he has been able to concentrate on his artwork, which has always been an important focus to his creativity.
His work is currently exhibited at various galleries around the country.
