Dreamy Palms – Photo Print
A slow shutter speed was used to capture the gentle motion of the water by fine art photographer Lara Colwood in this dreamy sunset with iconic Sri Lankan palms peaking over the pink Laccadive Sea.
Lara is a surf and lifestyle photographer travelling the world to capture intimate, magical and radical ocean moments.
The stretch of coast from Ahangama to Mirissa in Sri Lanka is very close to Lara’s heart. She lived there for over 15 months during which she connected with many of the local surfers and their kind, generous families, especially during the challenging COVID lockdowns.
She’s always felt a pull to the ocean and after studying Oceanography at university has always made travelling to surf or dive destinations a priority.
You will likely find Lara in the ocean with her camera or surfboard, on the beach laughing or balancing her laptop on her knees as she edits photos and eats biscuits. Lara’s easy going nature allows her to create authentic, genuine shots as she relaxes with her surroundings and subject matter.
Lara is passionate about social and environmental issues. She works closely with SeaSisters LK, a project in Sri Lanka addressing women’s equality and marine conservation through providing free swim and surf lessons
Each Giclée print uses pigment-based inks to reproduce images with a full spectrum of vibrant colours in their highest resolution and sharpest detail.
The prints are made on Hahnemühle Hemp Paper. This is a relatively new, more sustainable and eco-conscious option as it is made from 60% hemp fibre. The lightly textured surface gives the paper a pleasant, silky feel. It has a bright white natural tone, and thanks to the bright white colour of the hemp fibres, no optical brighteners are required. This paper is very durable; vegan certified and has a weight of 290 GSM.
Printed in the UK and available in a choice of two sizes, each size comes in a Limited Edition of only 20 prints. The prints have a 1 cm border and come with a certificate of authenticity showing the edition number.
