Delivery and Returns 
 

We’d like to reassure you about ordering from Buy the Sea during the COVID-19 outbreak.
 

We are still open, but in line with government advice, we are taking extra measures to support our team & customer’s health and well being.
 

The majority of our team are now working at home to ensure we can continue to meet our customer needs. The few staff that remain on site are committed to ensuring orders are delivered to our customers on time and safely.
 

Our distribution team are following strict hygiene practices to protect themselves and our customers, whilst our couriers are operating to a “contact free” delivery process, where customers will not be asked to sign for their deliveries.
 

We continue to monitor the status of the outbreak.

UK Delivery - the coast by post
 

Starting at only £2.95 our standard delivery charges are based on final order weight. Although many of our products are heavy, our maximum delivery & packing fee is £4.95 for UK orders (some items have free delivery).


We aim to pack & dispatch your order within 24 hours of receipt and for the items to arrive with UK mainland customers within 2-4 working days subject to stock availability. During busy periods we will endeavour to inform you if there are any delays. Please note a signature may be required on delivery.


UK Next Day Delivery


We are also able to offer a UK Next Day trackable service for urgent orders to mainland England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland (Northern Ireland and some highland postcodes may take 2 days).

This option costs £10.95 and is available on orders placed Monday to Friday no later than12 midday from receipt of payment. A signature is required on delivery.

Selecting Next Day delivery after this time will mean your package will be dispatched the following day for delivery the next working day. Please be aware that weekend deliveries are not possible with our Next Day service, therefore if selected on a Friday your package will be delivered on Monday (or the next working day in the case of a bank holiday).



International Delivery (including Channel Islands)
 

Starting at only £3.00 our delivery charges are based on final order weight.

We dispatch many orders overseas, use reputable courier services and ensure items are well packed.

International deliveries on average take between 3-8 days to arrive, but some shipments can take up to 2 weeks and possibly longer depending on their end destination. We are therefore unable to guarantee a specific arrival/delivery date for overseas deliveries.

If you order Products from our Website for delivery outside the UK, they may be subject to import duties and taxes which are levied when the delivery reaches the specified destination.

You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes. Please note that we have no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.

Please also note that you must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the country for which the products are destined. We will not be liable for any breach by you of any such laws.

All gifts sent through our International delivery services are insured for loss or damage in transit, unfortunately carriage costs are not, so if for whatever reason the goods are not accepted by the recipient, not collected when/where required or returned to sender then these costs are entirely at your own risk.

We are not responsible for the reliability or otherwise of overseas postal/courier services.

All transactions are made in British Pounds Sterling and the exchange rate is calculated by the payment card provider at time of transaction. Please note that some banks may charge you an additional fee for certain transactions (for example, international transactions).

Please note that any refunds to overseas orders will be done in British Pounds Sterling for the exact amount charged by us in Pounds Sterling.

Buy the Sea cannot be held responsible for any variations in exchange rates and consequent loss of currency as a result of any such changes. We strongly recommend our customers to consider this before placing and confirming any overseas orders.

When parcels travel we are charged not only for the weight of the parcel but also for the amount of space the parcel takes up. In order to charge correctly for the weight and size of an item, carriers have developed an international volume to weight calculation.

For some parcel sizes and destinations we may need to contact you for additional delivery charges. Where this happens you will be given the opportunity to accept or decline your order.

Returns


We hope that you will be delighted with your order, however, we understand that there are occasions where you may wish to return an item and we are happy to assist according to the Consumer Rights Act of October 2015.
 

How to Return an Item:
 

In the first instance, please notify us of your wish to return a product to us within 14 days of receipt of the goods (for faulty items please notify us within 24 hours, see below), you will then have a further 14 days to return the item/s to us.

Please have your order number to hand when contacting us so we can find your order and help with your query.


All goods must be returned in their original packaging and condition in which they were received, including the outer box or we withhold the right to a refund.

We are not able to issue refunds for goods that are not returned in the condition in which they were received.

General returns are made at the buyer expense.


For hygiene reasons, we regret that earrings for pierced ears are non-returnable.

Creative pieces that are made to your specific requirements (ie: outside of standard customisation options offered) are non-cancellable and non-refundable due to their bespoke element.

To avoid disappointment, please check whether an item is cancellable or non-cancellable before ordering.


Faults & Damages:
 

We strive to ensure items are produced, designed and packaged well, but in some unfortunate cases faults and damages may occur.
 

If on receiving your delivery you find an item is damaged or faulty in transit, please notify us within 24 hours of delivery, otherwise we will be unable to issue a refund or replacement goods.
 

Contact us via email sales@buythesea.co.uk detailing the issue and attaching a clear image to speed up the resolution process.
 

If you have requested a replacement, this will be send free of postage and packing charges.

Please don’t destroy or throw away any faulty product, as doing so may affect your entitlement to refund, as we may ask for the product to be returned.

 

Refunds:


We are not able to issue refunds for goods that are not returned in the condition in which they were received.
 

We will issue your refund or replacement within 14 days of receiving the goods back.
 

Refund can only be credited back to the original card used to purchase the items.
 

Refunds for items received as gifts can only be given to the original purchaser. If you would like to exchange an item, we cannot stop the original purchaser from knowing.
 

If an item is returned to us after our returns period has ended, and/or without advising us first, we will not be able to offer a refund. In these circumstances we may only offer an exchange or a part credit onto a gift voucher.
