Deep Ocean Blue Table Lamp
This stunning coastal table lamp by David Raine features deep ocean blue transparent pebbles sitting upon a larger cast stone base.
Each individually handmade lamp would fit seamlessly within any contemporary or coastal setting to great effect.
David’s love affair with the coast and sea developed from early childhood; with salt in his blood, it’s a theme that courses through much of his work.
Living in Cornwall the ocean and sky act as his inspiration and the very essence of the shoreline is represented in each of his works.
“I feel wonderfully privileged to be doing something that I feel so passionate about” says David.
Each lamp is cleverly created in his studio by individually hand casting the pebbles using coloured resin, whilst the large base pebble is made from crushed Dolomite Marble and sculptural plaster together with calcium for whiteness.
The stem is made from stainless steel and is finished with a stainless bezel on the top stone.
Some of the small stones were copied from stones collected from Prussia Cove in Cornwall. The cove was formerly called King's Cove after the 18th-century ship-wrecker and smuggler John Carter who was known locally as the "King of Prussia".
Although the design follows the same form, each of the pebble stones has its own unique qualities making every lamp that little bit different.
Complete with distinctive mussel shell tag of authenticity, each is handcrafted in Cornwall.
The images if of interest were taken at Porthoustock on the Lizard peninsula south of Helford river estuary in Cornwall.
The lamp is available with or without lamp shade.
