Decorative Seaside Art Fish
This beautifully decorative driftwood art fish by Laurence Henry features a seaside landscape that includes a sailing yacht, seagull, lighthouse and swimming fish in a complex relief design full of pattern and texture.
The wonderfully realized design hangs from a fish lure made from a limpet shell and decorated wooden beads and has been finished with copper stud eyes and an encrusted blue green copper tail.
Created upon a driftwood find, Laurence uses a variety of techniques and found objects to create his highly desirable works of coastal art.
He has worked as a freelance artist to Liberty, Parker Knoll, Habitat and Gallery Five, before eventually taking full time employment with the BBC as a graphic designer illustrating material for Play School and Jackanory.
Since his early retirement in 1999, he has been able to concentrate on his artwork, which has always been an important focus to his creativity.
His work is currently exhibited at various galleries around the country.
A unique and individual piece of coastal art.
