Crane Boys – Photography Print

Description

The sun slowly sets beyond a fishing boat named ‘Crane Boys’ in this photography art print by Cliff Kinch and the crane which sits on top of the rocks at Portland Bill.

The crane itself is part of a disused stone loading quay, which is now a scheduled monument.

The area of Portland Bill had been quarried for stone from the 19th century which was then shipped off the island till the early 20th century

The quay's manual crane became known as the Red Crane and was also used to lower fisherman and their boats into the sea.

The crane was later replaced by a steel crane, which remains in place today and continues to be used by fishermen.

“I love watching the changeable weather, the more dramatic the better as Mother Nature sweeps the canvas and palette clean in the blink of an eye”.

Surround by the flat green fields of Oxfordshire, Cliff lives at perhaps one of the furthest points away from the coast anywhere in England.

The draw of the sea is always difficult to resist, so he’s particularly fond of Dorset’s Jurassic coast with its dramatic colours and cliff tops, as he is of Weston-Super-Mare and Brean for the sheer expanse of beach and the stunning sunsets sweeping across the Bristol Channel.

Each landscape photograph is printed individually onto Canon Pixma Premium Glossy paper for durability.

Available in a choice of two sizes, each unframed print is sent in a cello bag with cardboard backing in a reinforced envelope for protection during delivery.
