Coastguards Cottages - painting

Description

This original coastal painting by Tracy McKenna is simply entitled 'Coastguards Cottages‘.

The scene which was partly painted on location on the Isle of Anglesey overlooks the famous black and white Penmon lighthouse and Puffin Island in the Menai Straights,

The cottages were captured on a late September evening says Tracey, the golden sun was just settling low on the rocks and the painting was later finished in the studio due to lack of light.

Born in Cyprus, Tracy grew up in a northern mill town on the edge of the Pennines. She studied Art and Design at Nelson and Colne College and then moved on to the Arts University at Bournemouth where she graduated with a BA (Hons) and a High Commendation from the RSA.

Since then she has qualified as a teacher of Art and Design.

Inspiration is never far away as she recently moved to Penryn in Cornwall to be closer to the sea, one of her favourite subjects to paint, and now has a new purpose studio in which to work.

This original work is painted in oils on canvas board and is framed in a simple unglazed white satin tray frame ready to hang.

Framed Size:  41 x 30 cm  (16 x12 inches)
