Chesil Beach at Dusk – painting

Description

Simply entitled ‘Chesil Beach at Dusk’ by Tracy Mckenna, this striking painting captures The famous Cove House Inn in the distance well known for being battered during harsh weather!

Painted en plein air one summer's evening as the sun was setting, Chesil beach derives its name from the old English word chessil meaning "gravel" or "shingle and runs for 18 miles along the Dorset Coast from from West Bay to the Isle of Portland.

Born in Cyprus, Tracy grew up in a northern mill town on the edge of the Pennines. She studied Art and Design at Nelson and Colne College and then moved on to the Arts University at Bournemouth where she graduated with a BA (Hons) and a High Commendation from the RSA.

Since then she has qualified as a teacher of Art and Design.

Inspiration is never far away as she recently moved to Penryn in Cornwall to be closer to the sea, one of her favourite subjects to paint, and now has a new purpose studio in which to work.

This original work is painted in oil on canvas board and comes in a simple white tray frame without glass, ready to be displayed.

Framed Size:  27 x 27 cm   (10.5 x 10.5 inches)
