Castaway Driftwood Chair

Let’s be practical, you may find yourself castaway on a desert island, but that doesn’t mean one can’t be civilized.

This driftwood chair is full of rustic charm and made using wood collected along the Cornish coast.

Each throne like chair is hand built by Julia Horberry; whilst being a functional piece it’s also a kind of sculpture and work of art all rolled into one.

A unique finishing touch to any room and just perfect for creating a coastal look.

Based in Cornwall in Porthtowan just minutes from the beach, Julia spends hours scouring the beaches and climbing the cliffs to reach hidden coves to collect items for her driftwood creations.

As you might expect her little workshop is made from all sorts of bit and bobs and it’s here between drinking coffee and looking out across the sea she makes each of her unique furniture pieces.

Each driftwood creation is individually signed by the maker.
