Boreray Table Lamp

Description

Wooden buoys and vintage cork floats discovered on Boreray Island in the Outer Hebrides complete the look of this table lamp by David Holmes

Nowadays cork floats are becoming increasingly rare as indeed are the fishing boats that used to use them, its perhaps rather nice that they have found a new decorative use with an appreciation of the history they hold.

For artist David Holmes his interest and fascination for driftwood have never wavered since combing the beaches of Pembrokeshire and Cornwall from an early age.

The individual qualities of each find, its inherent texture, shape and colour have all helped to inspire each of his handmade designs in creating natural products that evokes memories of the seashore.

The lamp has an oak base with a coloured twisted braid flex and comes complete with a natural off white cotton shade.
