Big Driftwood Fish
This fabulous big fish wall hanging uses carefully interwoven seashells and driftwood pieces to give an intricate sculptural design effect.
Perfect in any setting it features seashells and other found objects gathered along the strandline of various beaches across Dorset.
Made by Rachel White in her workshop studio in Weymouth, her creations use only natural driftwood sculpted by the tides and have not been shaped or altered in any way.
Amongst the intricately interwoven pieces of naturally textured driftwood are drifted seed pods, shells and other beach combed treasures.
Living just a mile from the sea, Rachel is a driftwood and beachcombing artist who sources her materials on her long walks along the shores of the beautiful Jurassic Coast of West Dorset; a World Heritage site.
Rachel’s work is regularly exhibited at various galleries across the southwest and recently one of her creations was selected to dress the kitchen set of ‘Ainsley’s Good Mood Food' currently seen on ITV' at the moment, every Saturday morning.
Her signature driftwood artwork often includes tiny interwoven found objects to add interest to her pieces, such as sea glass, small shells and on occasion finds such as beach pottery fragments, fossils or beach metal.
The images show the actual item to be dispatched.
Each piece is signed by the artist, stamped and numbered, and ready to hang on your wall and comes with a handwritten strung tag describing its Jurassic Coast provenance.
