Alison has a wonderful simplicity of line and cleverly conjures up coastal memories with her drawings.

The saying goes ‘a picture paints a thousand words’ and similarly a few simple well-drawn lines can convey a subject, stir emotions or feelings that can transport you to your own special place.

Alison spent much of her childhood travelling the world; her father was in the film industry, whilst her mother was an interior designer who filled the family home with original paintings. On their travels she had the opportunity to visit many museums and galleries in wondrous locations which ultimately ignited her love of art.

After studying Graphic Design at university, she went on to become Head of Design for a large insurance company for a number of years.

Her passion for drawing has grown ever stronger and making memories has now become her priority.  There’s nothing quite like taking a blank piece of paper and turning it into an emotive, nostalgic artwork in a unique special way.

Her inspiration mainly comes from the seaside, particularly the Cornish and Dorset Coastlines.

The artwork is hand drawn on to beautiful, white high quality 300g English watercolour paper, which has been made on a traditional cylinder mould machine at St Cuthberts Mill, using 100% wood free pulp. The sheet is acid free and slightly textured and set within a simple white frame.

Wrapped in Acid Free tissue paper, tied up with a white satin bow.
