Aldeburgh Town – print

This colourful print by Andrew Ruffhead shows us ‘Aldeburgh Town’ which is world-renowned thanks to its connection with Benjamin Britten, the founder of the Aldeburgh Festival, which takes place in June every year.

Situated on the North Sea coast in Suffolk, pretty pastel coloured 19th Century holiday villas line the promenade. On the pebble beach are fisherman’s huts where locals sell their daily catch.

The print is taken from an original pen, ink and acrylic painting that highlights some of the areas attractions.

Andrew works from his studio at home near the sea, producing pen, ink and gouache drawings.

Inspired by the coast he depicts fish, sea life and seafood’s, together with colourful images of maps, coastal towns and villages. He is happy to do commissions.

He studied Painting and Printmaking at Brighton Polytechnic, and then Printed Textile Design at the Central School of Art and Design. He was Head of printed Textiles at the University of East London for fifteen years as well as designing for many companies including Osborne and Little, The Designers Guild and Calvin Klein.

His work is shown in many galleries and shops around the UK and Spain.

Each print is printed onto high quality 250 gsm acid free museum quality paper has been signed by the artist and is ready to frame.
