Abalone Haliotes Ovina Shell
£1.95
Description
The wonderfully pearlised surface of the Haliotes Ovina Abalone is always a popular choice for decoration around the home or within craft projects.
As with many species of abalone, the shell displays an amazing array of glistening Mother of Pearl colours across its crinkled surface.
The naturally occurring iridescent pearl refracts light between pinks and colourful shades of blue green.
In excess of 100 species, abalones belong to the large Haliotis family. Most are edible rock dwelling shells found in both shallow and deeper waters.
This particular species is common to Indo Pacific waters.
Sold Individually.
Size: approx 6-7 cm long
