A Circus of Puffins on Driftwood
£12.95
Description
Little painted metal Puffins with their characteristic brightly-coloured bills sit upon a natural driftwood block.
A group of Puffins is known as a Circus which is quite apt for a bird that’s often called the ‘clown of the sea’ with its unmistakable look.
Puffins spend their life at sea fishing for sand eels. They come ashore to breed in the spring on grass-topped cliffs, preferring old rabbit burrows.
Its colourful bill fades later in the year, after the breeding season. The new chicks “jump-fly” and scramble by night down from the cliffs on which they have bred.
Painted on both sides each decorative Puffin block follows the same design, though there will be slight differences to the base due to the individual nature of the driftwood used.
A lovely finishing touch for any room setting.
Overall size: approx 15 x 8 x 9 cm tall
Puffins: 6 cm tall
